Celebrations aplenty this week amongst our team as we learned that Templand Group business, ITI Network Services, has been shortlisted for two Awards in the prestigious Sheffield Business Awards.
Designed to recognise and reward success in all sizes of business across a variety of sectors, the Sheffield Business Awards are organised by the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and The Star and are biggest business awards ceremony of the City Region.
ITI entered the Awards for the first time this year, in two categories: The Simm Engineering Group Best Use of Technology to Improve Business Performance Award, and the Small Business of the Year Award. There were a record number of entries to the Awards in 2016 – and ITI is a finalist in both of the categories we entered.
The ‘Best Use of Technology’ category was a perfect fit, according to Jason Denmark, CEO of The Templand Group and ITI’s managing director:
“Our business is about technology and communication: installation of technology to facilitate the communication that our customers require. We are at the cutting edge of our industry and installing public Wi-Fi and other technology in difficult, challenging environments throughout the UK and Europe.”
And with a growing list of blue-chip multinational clients and a successful management buyout concluded in June 2016, ITI is justifiably proud of its resilience in an industry that is evolving rapidly and offers unique challenges to network engineers.
Jason Denmark continued:
“We’re thrilled at being shortlisted and delighted that the judges have recognised ITI’s strength, resilience, commitment to excellence, and expertise.
“Having successfully deployed wireless networks at over 10,000 sites over the past 16 years, including many of the UK’s leading financial institutions, along with rail networks and operators, large arenas, exhibition and sporting venues, retail, international airports and MOD sites, plus traditional operator environments, the achievements we are most proud of are our ability and performance in meeting customers’ unique challenges.”
Dave Newton, ITI’s commercial director, added:
“You would be hard pushed to find a service partner out there with the level of experience on deployments we have. We initially started work in the year 2000 with the first Hilton Hotel deployments for BT Openzone using 802.11b Cisco equipment, the technology has improved massively since then and will continue to do so with the ever increasing number of devices and data requirements out there. Our brag file is vast and consists of stadiums, theme parks, entertainment attractions, very old unique listed buildings, shopping centres and retail outlets to name but a few.”
ITI’s customers include various areas of BT Group inclusive of BT Super Connected Cities, BT Sport and BT Wi-Fi, Ask 4, O2 / Telefonica, Fujitsu Telecom, Talk Talk, and Merlin Entertainment. Alongside these well-known names we work with a number of other business, public sector and defence customers on a confidential basis.
The winners of the Awards are due to be announced on 1 December.
